Education Abroad & Education Away

The Center for Global Education at 91¿´Æ¬ is dedicated to breaking down the borders of your college education. We want you to expand your horizons and be ready to live and work in a world that demands a global perspective. While at Moravian, this might mean attending the international climate change conference, traveling across Spain with your favorite professor to visit castles and monasteries from the Middle Ages, going to Japan for two weeks to study World War II from a unique perspective, or visiting the Oregon coast to explore the tide pools.

Now is your chance—join the #GlobalGreyhounds movement! Students majoring in any subject can go abroad during a winter term, spring break, May term, summer term, semester, or for a year. Plus, our ELEVATE experience guarantees travel for all! We also assist international students who wish to study abroad at 91¿´Æ¬ on an exchange. Here are the steps to begin your journey abroad:

Steps to Study Abroad for a Short-Term

  1. Create your .    
  2. Upload your travel documents.
  3. Submit your travel agreement.
  4. Attend a pre-departure orientation.

Steps to Study Abroad for a Semester or Summer

  1. Create your .    
  2. Attend a Semester Abroad Information Session.
  3. Research the opportunities available to you - will you do an exchange or go through an affiliate provider?
  4. Enroll in the Center for Global Education's non-credit bearing Education Abroad Course.
  5. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss the courses you will take abroad.
  6. Apply for scholarships.
  7. Apply for your student visa (if applicable).
  8. Plan your trip and finalize travel plans with your Education Abroad Advisor.
  9. Attend a pre-departure orientation.

Global Greyhounds, we know you will be transformed by your education abroad experience, so let’s make a little Global Greyhound Magic by getting everything planned and ready for your trip.  Students must pay Moravian Tuition if they would like to be considered and eligible for 91¿´Æ¬ scholarships, grants, and other State/ Federal funds.  If students select an Affiliate program, Moravian will pay up to $10,000.00 toward their Spring or Fall Semester (excludes winter and summer terms) educational expenses only (This does not include housing, meals, or expenses that are not educational tuition-based fees).  If the program's costs are in excess of $10,000.00, students will be billed directly from their program provider.

Program Styles

91¿´Æ¬ offers a number of study abroad programs of varying lengths and types. Choose the program type that best fits you!

Moravian Faculty-Led Programs

Short-term trips chaperoned by Moravian faculty members. Included in the ELEVATE experience. 

Affiliated Programs

Semester or year-long programs provided by third-party organizations.

Exchange Programs

Students pay 91¿´Æ¬ tuition and fees and then become a visiting student at an international university.

Intern Abroad

Travel and learn while receiving hands-on experience in the global workplace
