SLPD & MBA
As the educational and medical landscapes evolve, speech-language pathologists must be equipped to lead with a comprehensive understanding of business and science. Therefore, 91¿´Æ¬ offers the second-degree MBA to complement the knowledge and skills learned through the SLPD.
Current SLPD students will be eligible to enroll in the second-degree option during their final semester of the SLPD program or when they have six or fewer credits remaining. The second-degree MBA must be completed within three years of completing the Moravian SLPD. The MBA requires 12 courses for completion. Six of the courses from the SLPD will be counted towards the 12 required. The courses from the SLPD curriculum that apply to the MBA are:
- SLP 811: Qualitative Research
- SLP 812: Implementation Science
- SLP 903: Effective Clinical Supervision in Professional Settings
- SLP 904: Entrepreneurship: The Business, Social, & Global Innovator*
- SLP 920: Global Health Policy*
- SLP 930: Applied Research and Practice
Courses noted with * are elective credits. If students are interested in pursuing the MBA, it is advised that they take these courses as their elective options.
There are six MBA courses (18 credits) beyond the SLPD degree that must be completed for a second-degree MBA (see MBA course descriptions here). Students are subject to the School of Professional Studies and Innovation (SPSI) policies when enrolled in the following courses:
